Amsafe child aviation restraint system manual#
The information from the exemption has been incorporated in section 551.501 of the Airworthiness Manual and (a) Section 3.0 - Background was amended to remove information related to an exemption permitting the use of additional foreign child restraint systems.(1) The changes to this document include the following:

(1) This document applies to persons operating Canadian aircraft.

This AC on its own does not change, create, amend or permit deviations from regulatory requirements, nor does it establish minimum standards. It describes an example of an acceptable means, but not the only means, of demonstrating compliance with regulations and standards. (1) This Advisory Circular (AC) is provided for information and guidance purposes. It's light and easy to travel with and my daughter fit it till age 3 1/2. You could buy a Scenera car seat for about half the price, and then you'd have something that can be used on the ground too, as a second seat. It's only for flying and only for a short time of the child's life (22-44lbs). If you need to bring your car seat, it's not that big a deal to bring it on board (especially if there is more than one adult but I manage just fine alone).Īlso, as far as price is concerned, this is a very purpose-specific item. The damage might not be obvious and then your child is riding in an unsafe seat. It could too easily be lost and/or broken in transit. It's a good product if you either don't need a car seat at your destination or have one waiting (and not one from a car rental company!) Be sure to never check a car seat in as luggage. CARES harnesses are actually being rented on Ebay and Craigslist.
